Properties of the Bajo Aragón Region wines.
21/06/2007 - This seventh edition was extremely interesting. This was seen, above all, by the great many visitors who attended the event, who were able to taste the excellent wines.
Wineries from the historic Bajo Aragón region in Teruel and Saragossa, Tarragona and Huesca gathered at the seventh edition of Cretas Wine Fair this weekend, where the tremendous quality of the wines from this region was displayed. During the event, at which this year’s best wines were awarded prizes, on this occasion, all the prize-winners were local, from the Bajo Aragón region.
This new edition of Cretas Wine Fair opened its door this year with an increase of 25 per cent in the number of exhibitors and a great many innovations. One of these is that the event is now part of the official Calendar of Fairs of the Region Government of Aragón and also the strengthening of ties of collaboration with entities of interest such as Regional Wines indication..
The fair was officially inaugurated on Sunday morning for which purpose the Aragón Government’s Minister of Public Works, Javier Velasco attended the event, together with the President of the Provincial Deputation of Teruel and several district and local authorities.
Following the inauguration the prizes were awarded to this year’s best wines from among the 23 wines presented. The winners were the Crial de Lledó Winery for its young white wine: Borraz del Maestrazgo from Las Planas de Castellote for its young rosé wine; Peña Lagaya of the Cooperative Society San Cristóbal de Valderrobres for its young red wine; Vega Algás from the Cooperative Society San Pedro de Cretas for its aged white wine and the Dominio Maestrazgo Winery from Alcorisa for its aged red wine.
